Back in March 2022, Google noted that there are more than 3.1 billion visits to local websites each month. That’s a lot of website traffic.
If you’re a small business owner, your #1 driver of new business is likely going to be referrals.
Referrals are great!
But, even with a referral, most people will still Google your business name to learn more about your business, read reviews, etc. — before even contacting you or visiting your enterprise physically.

What is Local SEO ?

Local SEO is the practice of improving your online presence to get more business from local searches.

Local SEO helps your business be more visible in local search results on Google.

These searches take place on many search engines, but local SEO focuses on optimizing for Google users.

Local SEO specifically seeks to make a business prominent in local search engine results like Google’s local packs and maps, Apple Maps, local business review platforms, and related interfaces.

Local SEO is important because many people use search engines to find local businesses.

Any business that has a physical location or serves a geographic area can benefit from local SEO. If you search Google for any important keywords related to your business and a map with 3 listings appears underneath it (also known as a map pack), then local SEO can help you grow your business.

Local search has been around for years, but it was limited due to people only using their desktop computers. With the recent growth in mobile internet access, however, mobile search has exploded, so local SEO has become hugely important for the success of any business offering local products or services and local marketers.

According to GOOGLE

  • 30% of all mobile searches are related to location.

  • 78% of people who search for something nearby on their phones visit the business within a day.

  • 28% of searches for something nearby result in a purchase.

In short, customers are searching for your business.

If you’re not there, you’re leaving money on the table.

85% of people search on Google for business and services locally before visiting any shop or centre.

If you are not online then you are missing out your potential customers to your competitors who are already on google and approx. 1/3rd of customers and monthly revenue for your business

Simply, your competitor is getting all those potential customers that searched for the same product or service as yours & you are losing your potential customers to your competitor.

Map pack results

The map pack (aka local pack) is a Google SERP feature that shows the top local business listings and a map. It often appears at the very top of Google’s search results for local searches.

Organic search results

The “regular” organic search results are the “10 blue links” that we’re all familiar with.

They usually appear below the “map pack” results.
